Responsibilities
  • Assist businesses to navigate all available cryptocurrency regulations, ensuring compliance with local and international laws by providing legal advice to businesses when seeking for guidance.
  • Review and draft contracts, which are virtual asset, blockchain and/or technology related, to ensure they are legally sound and fulfill the intended purpose.
  • Assist with potential token admission, Security Token Offerings (STOs) and other fundraising methods, ensuring that they adhere to all local rules and regulations.
  • Handle issues related to patents, copyrights, and trademarks within the blockchain and crypto space, protecting the intellectual property of projects and the company.
  • Can handle legal disputes related to cryptocurrency transactions, fraud, or contractual disagreements, if any.

Requirements
  • Have bachelors and masters degree(s) in Law or a Juris Doctor degree. Preference with additional degree(s) in Engineering subjects (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, etc).
  • At least 7 years of work experience after qualification with international financial institutions, reputable law firms and/or regulators (e.g. SFC, HKMA, etc). Preferably with prior in-house work experience in fintech, blockchain and virtual asset industry as well as top-tier Chinese companies.
  • Multi-tasking; Able to learn, adapt and act agilely; Aptitude in problem-solving; Excellent interpersonal skills; Good drafting, communication and negotiation skills; Being able to work under tight deadlines and pressure; Proactive, willing to learn and detail-oriented.
  • Qualified in Hong Kong, England & Wales, Australia, and/or other major common law jurisdictions.
  • Must be proficient in both Mandarin (Chinese) and English (in all 4 aspects: reading, writing, speaking and listening).
