Job Description The Information Specialist is part of the Global Investment Banking Information Services Group (ISG) and will work closely with other ISG members, and bankers. This is an opportunity for individuals to enhance their research knowledge in a fast-paced environment. They will provide on-demand financial, company, economic, and industry data, and market research primarily to bankers in Jefferies' offices in Asia and Australia and to Investment Banking Management in the APAC region. The Information Specialist will be the only team member in the region and will be strongly supported by the global team.
Role & Responsibility: - Provide business information on a timely basis in user friendly formats to bankers and other investment banking personnel, as necessary.
- Fulfill requests for financial, company, economic, and industry data, and market research. Provide guidance and training to end-users in basic research tasks and liaise with vendors for training when appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of information sources.
- Assist in the evaluation and procurement of third-party information sources.
- Accurately record research and time utilization metrics.
Experience/Skills: - Advanced knowledge of business information sources and online services including Dealogic, LSEG, Capital IQ, Factiva, and Bloomberg.
- Proven experience of business research for an Investment Bank. minimum 4-5 years' experience required.
- The ability to work independently and to communicate effectively with all levels.
- The ability to manage expectations, negotiate deadlines, and handle a high volume of urgent requests.
- Native-level proficiency in English required.
- Professional working proficiency in Chinese strongly preferred.
