My client is one of the top foreign boutique investment banks in Hong Kong looking to add analysts to their business with focus on Greater China cross-border M&A.
Key Responsibilities
- Support execution of M&A transactions from initial pitch through closing, assisting senior team members in managing multiple work streams under tight deadlines.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF, merger models, and accretion/dilution analysis, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all deliverables.
- Perform valuation analyses using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and other methodologies to support strategic recommendations.
- Prepare client presentations and pitch materials in English and Mandarin, ensuring clarity and professionalism for senior executives and stakeholders.
- Assist in due diligence coordination, including managing data rooms and liaising with external advisers across financial, legal, and operational areas.
- Conduct industry and company research, analyse market trends, and identify potential acquisition targets or buyers to support origination efforts.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, including preparing marketing materials and supporting idea generation for new mandates.
- Collaborate with team members, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks while maintaining a high standard of quality.
Qualifications
- Solid investment banking experience, ideally within an M&A product team or corporate finance environment.
- Strong technical skills in financial modelling and valuation techniques, with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or similar platforms.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English; Cantonese proficiency is a strong advantage for local client interaction.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; CFA or CPA is a plus.
