Role Overview: Our client, a well-established and leading retail banking group in Hong Kong, is significantly expanding their IT Operations team. We are looking for motivated IT Professionals to join their Data Center Command Center. This is a rare opportunity to move from a vendor/service provider environment into a stable, long-term In-house banking role .
Key Responsibilities: - System Monitoring: Perform 24/7 proactive monitoring of core banking systems, network infrastructure, and server health using enterprise tools.
- Batch Processing: Execute and monitor daily/overnight batch jobs (e.g., end-of-day settlements, interest calculations) using tools like Control-M or TWS .
- Incident Management: Identify system alerts, perform initial troubleshooting (Tier 1), and escalate critical issues to relevant technical teams or SMEs according to the Runbook .
- Facility Management: Conduct regular physical inspections of the data center (On-premise servers, UPS, cooling systems) and maintain an accurate Logbook of all activities.
- Media Handling: Manage backup tape rotations and coordinate with off-site storage vendors for secure data handling.
- Shift Leadership (For Senior Applicants): Oversee shift handover, mentor junior operators, and act as the primary point of contact during critical incidents.
Required Technical Skills & Experience: - Education: Diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience: * Operator: 1–3 years of experience in Data Center operations or IT support. (Fresh graduates with high potential will be considered).
- Senior Operator: 5+ years of experience, ideally within a Banking or Financial Services environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Windows/Linux Server environments, Networking basics (TCP/IP), and Monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios).
- Batch Tools: Experience with Job Scheduling software (Control-M, AS/400, or Mainframe) is a significant advantage.
- Language: Fluent in Cantonese; ability to read and write technical English and Incident Reports.
