Job Summary:
Overall Purpose of Role:

•\tTo provide effective first-line supervision for all trading activity on LMEselect
•\tTo provide first-line support and oversight for all LMEselect trading queries
•\tTo ensure the Error Trade Policy and Dynamic Price Bands on LMEselect are managed effectively
•\tTo effectively manage LMEselect processes, documentation and users
•\tTo understand all processes across LME venues and functions managed by Trading Operations
•\tTo maintain an overview of LME and LME Clear systems including LMEselect, LMEprice, LMEsmart, LMEprism, LMEsword, LMEbullion, LMEsource, LMEvps, LMEmercury, CRDS etc.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the LME Error Trade Policy and Dynamic Price Bands on LMEselect are managed effectively and consistently
  • Ensure the procedures for the Error Trade Policy and Dynamic Price Bands on LMEselect are followed with all relevant information documented for regulatory purposes
  • Maintain expertise to use expert judgement when required on LMEselect trades that appear erroneous, misleading or fall outside of the remit of the LME error trade policy
  • Perform health-checks after systems started up
  • Manage major incidents on trading platform, including communications management
  • Effective handling of all stakeholder queries relating to LME's pricing procedures and Trading Operations in general
  • Troubleshoot issues relating to trading platform, escalating to support teams when necessary
  • Liaise with and complete a daily handover with the London team
  • Escalate potential critical issues to management promptly and succinctly
  • Manage relevant LMEselect statistics and updates of analytical coding
  • Provide market participants with demo and training on LMEselect functionalities
  • Review and update departmental documentation
  • Ensure regulatory reports on trading users and activity are completed accurately and on time
  • Recommend and promote enhancements to the management on issues that will benefit the LME's price discovery procedures, and to participate in all relevant projects and initiatives
  • Undertake project work as and when required, including UAT testing and updating operational procedures to reflect new processes for the continued enhancements on the trading platform
  • Assist with trading platform upgrades and the conformance process of the trading platform to Asia Pacific members and software vendors
Academic and Professional Qualifications Required:
  • Good HKDSE (or equivalent), a University Degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Information Technology or a related field.
Required Knowledge and Level of Experience:
  • Each position within the department is dependent on knowledge, experience and performance
  • Four years' experience in the financial sector
  • Strong knowledge or experience in electronic trading
  • Familiarity with market terminology
  • An understanding of Futures and Options a bonus
  • An understanding of the LME prompt date and contract structure a bonus
  • An understanding of the LME forward price curve a bonus
  • An understanding of dealing regulations a bonus
