Within A&M, the Financial Services Industry Group (FSIG) partners with Financial Services organizations and private investors to drive results, create value and unlock business opportunities at every stage of their growth strategies. In Asia, our consulting proposition is centered on Growth, Transformation, and M&A and Post Deal solutions that are enabled by technology and artificial intelligence. We work with Banks, Insurers, Wealth and Asset Managers, Private Equity Investors, and Sovereign Wealth Funds. Our people include seasoned strategists who are involved in large-scale transformation projects, including digital use cases across financial services institutions. The team's core market is Hong Kong, but there are exciting opportunities to work across SEA and Greater China.

Manager/ Senior Manager in our team will:

Have an established track record leading teams in implementing strategy and transformation or have delivered on M&A engagements across consulting engagements and/ or in-house projects across our key sectors of Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance, Wealth and Asset Management, and Private Investors. Senior Managers will be expected to articulate their ownership of specific solutions in their previous teams and/ or identify a key value-added to at least one of our three broad offerings of Growth, Transformation, and M&A and Post Deal. We are also eager to engage with Functional Specialists including Actuarial, Finance, Pricing, and Digital Solutions who have ideated and implemented specific solutions/ digital tools within financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the day-to-day execution of consulting projects and ensuring successful delivery of client requirements within the scope of the engagement, including:
    • Origination of project plan and process management including communication of status to clients and A&M leadership.
    • Shape the engagement narrative - either directly or by guiding junior team embers with frameworks, analysis, and insights.
    • Support project scope management such that deliverables are manageable given the team's capacity.
  • Support multiple client and stakeholder relationships and networking within the client organization to understand their needs and help to influence the client agenda.
  • Support and contribute to other A&M projects, for example by sharing expertise or best practices.
  • Proactively engage with industry trends including competitive dynamics and disruptors (e.g., FinTech, Digital, AI) to ensure relevance and depth of analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of intellectual property, including improving methodologies, tools, techniques and developing new ideas and approaches.
  • Support business development efforts, including taking initiative to architect and position proposals and enhancing our service propositions.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to Analysts and Associates to help develop their consulting skills, fostering growth and skill development through feedback and knowledge sharing.
Here is what you need:
  • Minimum 5 years (Manager) or 8 years (Senior Manager) of professional experience in Financial Services working on one or more of the following solution offerings:
    • Growth Strategy including revenue and pricing optimization, market entry analysis and GTM solutions including solution design and commercialization, business case development, & ROI analysis.
    • Distribution channel optimization including partnerships and target operating model.
    • Mergers and Acquisitions (E2E process) - e.g., Deal Strategy, Portfolio Review, Due-Diligence (including Operational or Tech), Synergy Assessment, and Post-merger Integration.
    • Transformation exercises around cost, tech & ops modernization, and AI enabled operations.
    • Candidates with specific experience working on Digital Growth and Transformation including virtual banking/ insurance, AI assisted processes, embedded financial products will be preferred.
  • Specific strategy consulting experience at a top-tier firm (MBB, Big 4 Strategy, or equivalent) or in-house roles (Group Strategy; Group Transformation) will be advantageous.
  • Domain expertise in one or more of our three broad offerings of (1) Growth, (2) Transformation, (3) M&A and Post Deal. This also includes digital-related topics trending in Financial Services including Open Banking, Digital Assets, AI enablement, and process automation.
  • Proven ability to deliver impactful results from ideation to execution by working independently and collaborating within cross-functional teams across multiple, concurrent projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (in English) is a must, whether in articulating complex concepts to clients, to networking and building relationships with the internal team. Experience in delivering engagements in Cantonese or Mandarin will be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced degree will be advantageous.
