A leading foreign corporate bank is looking for an experienced and dynamic Team Head to lead its Treasury Settlement Team.
This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end processing of all treasury settlement transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards; as well as managing daily operations, the ideal candidate will play a key role in project management, driving system transformations, and leading process enhancement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce risk.
Your new role
- Supervise daily operations of the Treasury Settlement team of 6, ensuring timely and accurate processing of FX (Foreign Exchange), MM (Money Market), fixed income, funds, bonds, and derivative transactions.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex settlement issues, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Monitor and manage settlement workflow risks, including failed trades, unmatched confirmations, and nostro reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and market best practices (e.g., SWIFT standards, AML, FATCA).
- Drive system automation and lead process improvement initiatives to reduce manual intervention and operational risk; support system implementations and transformations for new product launches.
- Collaborate with front office, risk, compliance, finance, and technology teams to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead and mentor a team of settlement officers, providing training, performance feedback, and career development support.
- Oversee the maintenance of static data, settlement instructions, and system configurations.
- Participate in system upgrades, UAT testing, and the implementation of new products or services.
- Prepare and review management reports, KPIs, and audit deliverables.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in treasury operations or settlements, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- In-depth knowledge of treasury products (FX, MM, IRS, Bonds, Derivatives) and settlement processes.
- Proficiency in SWIFT messaging, RTGS and treasury settlement systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese is necessary.
