Job Summary: Lead Post Trade's Quality Assurance (QA) function across Core Climate and Depository Operations, owning the end to end QA strategy for cash equity, bond and climate related products. Drive operational excellence, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance while advancing HKEX's Sustainability strategy and embedding continuous improvement and automation across mission critical processes.
Job Duties: Job Duties - Define and own the QA strategy for Core Climate and Depository Services, aligned with HKMA/SFC requirements and internal risk policies.
- Build and lead the QA team; set goals, coach talent, and elevate performance, engagement and accountability.
- Design and implement robust control frameworks (preventive/detective/corrective) covering custody, depository and climate product workflows.
- Standardize QA procedures and metrics; introduce automated validation, sampling plans, and exception-management dashboards.
- Lead structured problem solving, root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product, Technology and Operations to define user requirements, UAT plans, and release acceptance for new services and system changes.
- Own QA reporting: define KPIs/KRIs, trend analysis, remediation plans; communicate outcomes to senior management.
- Support new initiatives and business development under HKEX's Sustainability strategy
- Facilitate compliance with HKEX's sustainability governance; ensure effectiveness in achieving sustainability goals across business development and strategies.
- Lead and monitor compliance with policies and procedures; track and facilitate remediation of divisional risk and audit issues; enable communication flows between first and second/third line functions.
- Advise on operational, legal and regulatory issues (in collaboration with Legal and Compliance) with a focus on the Core Climate platform.
- Oversee and monitor projects; govern budgets and expenses; conduct evaluations and impact assessments; compile reports and impact narratives.
- Manage and oversee the team's objectives and deliverables; provide guidance and support to team members within and across the division.
Job Requirements - Bachelor's degree in environmental science/management, Finance, Business, Economics, or related disciplines.
- 6-8 years in Securities Operations and/or Carbon/ESG markets with essential people leadership experience.
- Strong business acumen and experience with Carbon/ESG products; exposure to financial products, data, market regulation and controls advantageous.
- Sound understanding of corporate governance and emerging trends in Carbon/ESG markets and Corporate Responsibility.
- Knowledge of CCASS operating rules and the HKMA/SFC regulatory framework; solid audit and operational risk exposure.
- Proven track record establishing QA frameworks for climate-related products and depository services.
- Hands-on experience in control testing, sampling, documentation standards and evidence management.
- Excellent written and spoken English; good Chinese language skills; proficiency in Putonghua preferred.
- Professional certification/training in Lean or Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or equivalent CI methodology.
- Experience with automation, workflow orchestration, RPA or analytics applied to operations QA.
- Strong data literacy: define metrics, interpret trends and translate insights into action.
- Conversant with MS Word / Excel / Outlook / PowerPoint / Access / VBA.
