Our business partner is a top-tier Asian bank that is seeking an experienced Trade Finance leader to step into the role as the Team Head-Trade Finance in their Transaction Banking team.
Your new role
The successful candidate will lead product innovation and sales initiatives, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the effective execution of trade strategies.
Key responsibilities are as below:
- Manage and inspire a team of trade finance professionals, fostering excellence, collaboration, and accountability while partnering with sales and product managers.
- Oversee the design, enhancement, and launch of innovative trade finance solutions, with a focus on structured offerings and fintech-driven advancements.
- Implement and drive sales strategies, set ambitious targets, and deliver strong market share and revenue growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Operations, IT, Credit, Loans, Legal, Compliance, and Group functions to ensure alignment with organisational objectives and regulatory standards.
- Partner with internal teams to understand trade finance needs, delivering tailored solutions that improve efficiency and support strategic goals.
- Pursue new opportunities and partnerships to expand the trade finance portfolio while strengthening existing client relationships
- Identify and mitigate risks in trade transactions, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
- Act as a key bridge between trade finance and other departments, collaborating with the Group on high-impact initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
As a leader to support the growth of the shop, you will have a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in trade finance, with expertise in open account trade, supply chain, commodities, structured trade finance, etc. A proven track record of achieving significant sales and revenue targets in trade finance will be appreciated. A tertiary degree coupled with proficiency in English and Chinese are required.
