An international leader in trade credit insurance and risk management is seeking a Senior Credit Underwriter to join its dynamic Credit team in Hong Kong. About the Role You will play a central role in evaluating creditworthiness across a broad range of industries, setting credit limits, and contributing to portfolio profitability. This position involves close client engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and the use of advanced analytics, including AI-enabled tools, to enhance decision-making and risk management efficiency.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct in-depth financial and commercial analysis of companies across various sectors.
- Determine appropriate credit limits in line with internal models and risk appetite.
- Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify emerging risks.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, providing timely, high-quality credit advice and proactive service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Commercial teams to align underwriting outcomes with business objectives.
- Contribute insights and market intelligence to support strategic business initiatives.
What Were Looking For - 7–10 years of experience in credit underwriting, trade credit insurance, or related risk and financial functions.
- Strong analytical skills with proven expertise in financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Confident in engaging with senior professionals and conducting company visits.
- Highly proactive, independent, and commercially minded.
- Proficiency in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin required.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a multinational or multicultural environment preferred.
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
