About the team

Asia Pacific Syndicated Finance Department is primarily responsible for the origination and distribution of syndicated loans for Mizuho Bank, Ltd. in Asia Pacific ex. Japan, with teams based in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. Our clientele spans across a diverse range of institutions from sovereign-related entities and supranational, to corporates and financial institutions (FIs) / non-bank FIs.

Role requirements

The AVP/Associate, Loan Syndication supports the loan distribution of primary and secondary syndicated loans across APAC. The role focuses on executing loan syndication and secondary sales, developing investor relationships, and contributing to revenue and balance sheet optimization for the bank.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support senior loan syndicators in executing primary and secondary syndicated loans in APAC and other cross border markets.
  • Assist in the syndication and distribution process, including preparation of bank list & invitation letter, roadshow coordination, investor communication, handling Q&As and deal closing.
  • Support secondary loan sales including documentation, communication with facility agent and settlement process.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with loan investors to support both primary and secondary distribution.
  • Act as dual-hat Banker of Mizuho Securities (relevant licenses are required) to support the referral and promotion of product and services to Mizuho's customers.

Work experience, education and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in loan syndication, corporate banking or related capital markets role.
  • Basic credit knowledge in corporate and financial institutions.
  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy under tight timelines.
  • Fluent English and Mandarin language skills are required.
