We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Head of Client Selection and Exit Management - Private Banking. In this role you will: - Become a Control Risk Owner, responsible for control design and operational effectiveness of the Client Selection and Exit Management (CSEM) governance framework across Global Private Banking and Trust Fiduciary Services across Private Bank in the Asia Pacific Region (ASP).
- Be responsible for the enforcement of the First Line of Defense (FLOD) responsibilities including timely facilitation of cases covering financial crime risks, reputational risks, and risk appetite concerns; in line with the CDD policy and CSEM KPI's.
- Support the Regional Head of Client Lifecycle Management to champion the risk culture within the region through periodic reviews of processes for improvement and consistency.
- Lead the team of CSEM analysts in proactively identifying control gaps in case submissions and identifying trends using data and analytics.
- Ensure quality submission of cases to regional and global decision-makers and seamless execution of the GPB ASP Reputational Risk and Client Selection Committee (RRCSC) meetings.
- Be responsible for stakeholder management including during case management, from the front office to Second Line of Defense (SLOD), GPB regional and global management; to CSEM leads in other lines of businesses.
- Serve as the CDD/CSEM advisory to various ASP Front Office teams on cases requiring RRCSC escalation, and central coordinator with other HSBC lines of business in ASP and globally for common client cases.
- Support key de-risking initiatives including anti-money laundering typology case reviews, high risk geography, Special Category Client and Politically Exposed Persons reviews
To be successful you will need: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in relevant field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in CSEM and/or risk management; having Private Banking or Corporate Banking background is an advantage.
- Team management experience is a must.
- Effective communicator in both verbal and writing skills is a must.
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail and time-keeping skills, and entrepreneurial outlook with strong sense of ownership .
