About the Role The primary role of Internal Audit is to assist the Board, the Board/ Local Audit Committee and executive management to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the Group. Group Internal Audit (GIA) mission is to provide independent and objective assessment and reporting of the overall effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and governance processes across the Group and appropriately challenge executive management to improve the effectiveness of these processes. GIA also advises business on ways of enhancing the business capacity in managing risk.
Roles and Responsibilities: - Support the Head of Internal Audit to deliver the audit plan, coach the audit team and drive the audit process enhancement
- Engage business functions for the audit activities and build up a strong and trusted relationship with the business functions.
- Act as a bridge between business auditors and IT auditors on topics such as application controls, strategic projects and data governance. Facilitate collaboration and training to audit staff on application controls.
- Manage IT auditor performance in supporting application control testing in business audits and review their audit reports and working paper documentation.
- Continuously monitor operational intelligence projects such as Control Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Data Governance and assess their impact on business process controls and audit plan.
- Manage local stakeholders and engagement in continuous business review discussions to understand potential impact on business controls and audit plan.
- Advise business functions for the implementation of an automated, effective and efficient system of internal controls.
- Identify key risks of the business, respond to the emerging risks and communicate potential issues to management and the Audit Committee
- Manage the annual audit planning process, and develop a risk-based audit plan
- Manage, lead and execute audits in accordance with the GIA Standards. Lead special projects and investigations as and when required
- Perform quality assurance over AIA Taiwan audit team's work. Review audit files including audit planning documentation, working papers and audit reports for compliance with the GIA standards.
Minimum Job Requirements: - University graduate with at least 12 years of relevant audit experience, preferably in the life insurance company and Big Four accounting firm
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading application control review in business audits.
- Understanding of life insurance operations, industry practices and legislative/regulatory requirements is preferred.
- Proven experience in conducting data analytics. Knowledge with audit tools and other software such as TeamMate, Databricks, Python, PowerBI. Working experience with coding and scripting languages is considered a bonus.
- Excellent analytical/ presentation, and people/ project management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet milestones within time, cost and quality constraints.
- Ability to work independently and be a strong team player with commitment to quality and strong execution
