Our client, one of the largest asset management firms in Asia with USD 20bn+ AUM, is seeking a Head of Risk Management to lead enterprise-wide risk governance across its regional operations.
Role Overview
Reporting to the CFO and Audit & Risk Committee, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework, ensuring alignment with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and global best practices. The position serves as a key advisor to senior management and the Board on risk, governance, and organizational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain a comprehensive ERM framework across all business units and geographies. ï‚·
- Provide strategic risk insights to support investment decisions, business planning, and sustainability initiatives. ï‚·
- Oversee investment, portfolio, and operational risk assessments, including due diligence for acquisitions. ï‚·
- Develop and maintain risk policies, internal controls, and compliance frameworks; liaise with regulators as required.
- Support the Audit & Risk Committee and prepare regular risk reports for senior management and the Board. ï‚·
- Drive a strong risk culture and coordinate risk management practices across departments.
Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline. ï‚·
- Professional certifications (FRM, CFA, CPA, CIA or equivalent) preferred. ï‚·
- 12+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, risk governance, or internal audit, ideally within asset management, real estate, or regulated financial services.
- Strong experience engaging with Boards, senior stakeholders, and regulators. ï‚·
- Proven capability in cross-border risk governance; experience in Mainland China is an advantage. ï‚·
- Knowledge of fund management, and ESG or climate risk is highly desirable.
