Position Description
You will be joining an exciting and evolving Narrative team within the Research department. You will assist in three parallel team mission statements: (1) upgrade our alpha producing models to the most advanced AI techniques available to enhance performance and feedback loops, (2) develop new techniques that links alpha models to quantitative narrative extraction to form a bridge between quantitative techniques and traditional broking, and (3) support department management in applying data science and these cutting edge techniques to enhance overall research performance. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assisting the development and maintenance of models including AI-based semantics model for alpha-generating thematic baskets, macro and market analysis, and working with global teams on joint projects.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Support the Narrative Analyst and Narrative Scientist in building and maintaining models for basket construction and recommendation optimization
- Build and maintain structured databases combining financial, textual, and alternative data
- Assist with internal research requests, especially those linked to AI/LLM methodologies and text analytics
- Support department management in applying data science to improve the international research business
- Contribute to strategic research and presentation projects for both internal and external clients
- Collaborate with different teams to integrate narrative analytics into broader product and client solutions
- Monitor and evaluate model performance, ensuring continuous improvement through testing, validation, and refinement
- Prepare clear, data-driven reports and visualizations to effectively communicate insights to the business
- Perform other ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in STEM fields, PhD is preferred
- Minimum 2 to 4 years relevant experience
- Strong analytical, technical and AI/LLM skills; hands-on experience on AI application is preferred
- Creative and analytical with the ability to present ideas articulately and in compelling English
- Working knowledge of Mandarin is preferred
- Experience with at least one programming language
- Demonstrable experience and ability to multitask, prioritize and operate in a fast moving, challenging environment
