Job Title: Legal Counsel
Location: Central, Hong Kong
Responsibilities:
Data Compliance Support:
-
- Collaborate with the team to build and improve data compliance management systems for clients.
- Draft and revise legal documents, including privacy policies, guidelines for processing employee personal information, and third-party Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
- Assist in conducting data compliance due diligence, mapping data flows, identifying compliance risks, and developing remediation plans.
- Contribute to cross-border data transfer compliance by preparing Personal Information Protection Impact Assessment (PIA) reports and filing Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Overseas Business Legal Support:

- Aid lawyers in legal research and feasibility analysis on foreign investment policies, national security reviews, and industry regulations for target investment jurisdictions.
- Support the preparation of compliance documents needed for establishing overseas investments, including entity formation and operational activities.
M&A Transaction Support (Concentration Filing):

- Assist in conducting assessments for multi-jurisdictional filings.
- Help draft complete merger control filing documents and respond to requests for additional information from regulatory authorities.
- Coordinate the filing project process with transaction parties and international counsel to ensure progress towards approval.
Comprehensive Antitrust Business Support:

- Review client contracts and distribution policies to identify and assess associated risks.
- Support the drafting of compliance manuals and internal codes of conduct.
- Assist in preparing antitrust compliance training materials and enhancing clients internal compliance systems.
- Conduct antitrust compliance assessments for commercial arrangements, including corporate collaborations and joint ventures (JVs).
Requirements:
Education & Qualification:
-
- Bachelors degree or higher in law from a reputable domestic or international law school. Must have passed the Chinese Legal Professional Qualification Examination.
Experience:
-
- Minimum 5 years of solid experience in a relevant practice area at a law firm. Practical knowledge in international competition law, data compliance, or cross-border merger filing is preferred.
Language Skills:
-
- Excellent bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese, with the ability to independently translate, draft, and review legal documents in both languages, as well as conduct efficient communication and presentations.

- Strong legal research, logical analysis, written communication, and document drafting skills, with the ability to distill key legal points from complex information.
