The Project and Corporate Finance Clients Department, Global (PCF) is responsible for expanding AIIB client relationships among private-sector clients and sponsors in the infrastructure sector at the senior management and shareholder levels. PCF focuses on the origination and execution of nonsovereign-backed financing (NSBF) transactions across the range of AIIB-covered sectors, geographies, client types, and products. The department drives the ongoing expansion of AIIB NSBF volumes, targeting lead-role assignments with the objective of positioning AIIB as a go-to bank for private-sector infrastructure finance.
The Manager, PCF will report to the Director General (DG), PCF; supervise a team of professional staff; manage the generalist pool of analysts and associates; manage project pipeline development; and provide guidance to the department staff related to investment projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the DG, PCF in managing the department in all its functions, and perform the role of the DG in their absence, unless instructed otherwise, or in the case of a formal decision by the DG.
  • Assist the DG in the development of high-quality project pipelines, support effective day-to-day operations of the department, and provide guidance on operational issues and AIIB policies to the department staff.
  • Manage the processing, formulation, and documentation of the projects to the approval stage, ensuring compliance with AIIB's policies and priorities.
  • Contribute to the development of the relevant operational policies, strategies, guidelines, and programs.
  • Actively participate and support the DG in recruitment and team-development efforts.
  • Represent the department in relevant meetings and events both internally and externally.
  • Assist the DG in annual business planning and budget management for the department.
  • Proactively create an environment within the team in which staff and consultants are performance-, results-, and client-oriented; that actively promotes a culture of trust and openness as well as learning and sharing; and in which there is a keen sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Inform and provide recommendations to the DG of significant developments, emerging opportunities, and challenges in areas of responsibility, and advise the DG on critical, relevant internal issues.
  • Lead or participate in special initiatives or ad-hoc assignments.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 15-20 years of relevant professional experience in other MDBs or top-tier global financial institutions.
  • Master's degree in finance, economics, development studies, and/or related fields is essential. A bachelor's degree supported by strong work experience will be considered.
  • Strong managerial and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability in managing diverse teams and stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Significant experience in a variety of business sectors in a broad range of geographical areas covered by PCF.
  • Significant operational experience in project and corporate finance across multiple sectors and jurisdictions.
  • Strong credit and structuring skills for different investment tools.
  • Investment acumen, with a track record of building up quality investment portfolios.
  • Exceptional track record of achieving results and solving problems.
  • Thorough understanding of the environmental, social, and governance framework in infrastructure development.
  • High proficiency and command of both written and spoken English.
