About the Role
Our client is seeking an Analyst/Associate to join their APAC Asset & Liability Management (ALM) and Strategic Management Control team in Hong Kong. In this pivotal role, you will support the financial management and optimization of the banks balance sheet and scarce resources across the Asia-Pacific region. You will be a key analytical partner to regional CFOs, business lines, and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance & Profitability Analysis: Prepare monthly financial performance reports (revenue, costs, profitability) for regional management. Support budgeting and advise on resource optimization (capital, liquidity) for business transactions.
- Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP): Review and update regional FTP policies. Monitor and explain ALM P&L, focusing on liquidity costs.
- Balance Sheet Management: Monitor ALM risks (liquidity, rates, FX) and ensure compliance with group principles and local regulations. Propose and help implement hedging strategies.
- Management Support: Prepare materials for key committees (ALCO, Liquidity Risk Committee). Act as a point of contact for APAC finance teams on ALM and profitability-related requests.
Who We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in banking/finance, ideally in ALM, Treasury, Financial Control, or Product Control.
- Strong understanding of banking products, balance sheet dynamics, and key financial concepts (Fund Transfer Pricing, RWA, Liquidity Cost).
- Excellent analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel ; familiarity with financial databases is a plus.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to stakeholders.
- A team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
