Our client, a reputable global financial institution, is seeking an experienced Head of Information Technology to lead its Hong Kong IT function. This is a senior leadership role with end‑to‑end responsibility for local technology operations, governance, and risk management, working in close partnership with regional and global technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and management of the Hong Kong IT function
- Oversee IT operations, including infrastructure, desktop services, and end‑user support
- Establish, implement, and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and controls
- Manage technology risk, regulatory compliance, and audit-related activities
- Lead and deliver IT projects and initiatives in line with business and group objectives.
- Coordinate with regional and global IT stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise standards
- Act as a trusted technology partner to local management and business functions
- Manage external vendors and service providers to ensure service quality and compliance
Requirements
- Extensive experience in a senior IT management or leadership role within financial institutions
- Banking or financial services background is a must
- Strong hands-on knowledge of IT operations, desktop environments, and infrastructure support
- Proven experience in IT governance, technology risk management, and control frameworks
- Solid understanding of financial services regulatory and compliance requirements; HKMA-related experience is highly preferable.
- Experience working within a regional or global technology operating model
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills
- Fluency in both English and Cantonese (spoken and written)
