Real Estate Services (RES) is part of the Global Procurement & RES Infrastructure team within the Global Chief Operating Office (GCOO) at HSBC. The function is responsible for shaping and delivering the Bank's real estate strategy globally, working in close partnership with businesses, senior leadership and external strategic partners.
In this fantastic new role, you will be accountable for the regional delivery and execution of Workspace Operations & Services across Asia & Middle East, ensuring safe, resilient, and high-quality workspace services across the regional portfolio. You will lead the regional implementation of global service models and standards, while overseeing supplier performance, operational governance, and service outcomes aligned to HSBC strategy.
The role will report to the Global Head of Workspace Operations & Services and the Head of Real Estate Services, Asia & Middle East.
In this role you will: -
- Lead the delivery of Workspace Operations & Services across Asia & Middle East, ensuring consistent execution of global standards and effective local delivery to meet business needs.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of Facilities Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, Workspace Experience and Hospitality Services, and RES ESG across the region.
- Provide oversight of market-level delivery, ensuring local governance, reporting, and due diligence across all Workspace Operations & Services in close partnership with strategic partners JLL and Compass.
- Drive strong supplier performance management, promoting effective service delivery, commercial contract discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure robust management of operational risk, including building unavailability, incident management, and workplace safety, with clear escalation processes to minimise business disruption.
- Maintain alignment of regional and market delivery with the global RES service model, policies and procedures, and governance requirements.
- Oversee the regional Workspace Operations & Services budgeting and planning, maintaining cost discipline and assessing both the financial and commercial implications of operational decisions.
- Act as the regional escalation point for Workspace Operations & Services, facilitating timely resolution of operational issues, supplier underperformance, and risk events, with clear escalation processes and full stakeholder expectation management.
- Work in close partnership with ESG and Sustainability teams to align operational delivery across the portfolio with RES sustainability objectives.
- Proactively manage relationships with key business stakeholders, aligning priorities, budgeting, and service offerings to meet business needs.
- Work effectively as part of the regional RES leadership team, amplifying a high-performance culture and enabling the Regional Head of RES to focus on the delivery of strategic outcomes.
- Deliver operational insights and performance reporting across the region, highlighting service performance, risks, and improvement opportunities for regional and global leadership.
- Embed standards of excellence across regional and market teams in a matrix environment, reinforcing accountability and sharing best practice.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: -
- Technical & professional expertise: Experience leading workplace, facilities management, engineering, and RES operations across a regional or multi-market portfolio with strong execution discipline.
- Supplier & Operating model management: Experience managing strategic supplier partners and an outsourced operating model, with clear ownership of performance, service delivery, and commercial outcomes.
- Financial Performance: Ability to oversee operational budgets and financial planning, maintaining cost discipline and applying sound commercial judgement to operational decisions.
- Risk Management: Demonstrated experience establishing and operating effective risk management and control processes to minimise incidents and operational disruption across a regional portfolio.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Influence: Strong communication skills and ability to engage and influence business stakeholders and internal partners within a complex matrix organisation.
- People & Culture Leadership: Ability to lead and develop teams, fostering accountability and a high-performing culture, while role-modelling collaborative behaviours.
- Change and Transformation: Strong change and transformation mindset to drive simplification and digitisation of activities.
- Professional qualification: Relevant and demonstrable professional qualifications in workspace operations, facilities management, or engineering.
