Associate Director. In this role you will: - Lead the team of architecture and fellow technical SMEs supporting, guiding and leading them for preparing a right solution design
- Responsible of Technical SME support for Digital Operation strategy across GBGF ie IWPB, CIB, UK and HK.
- Lead the co-design for Digital Operation strategies across business lines and lead the team for creating a strategic solution.
- Use your engineering background defining the detailed end to end solution design for products and features in a way that supports the execution of the IWPB technology strategy and roadmap, articulating and addressing associated risks, issues and technical debt
- Translate the requirements created by business analysts into the design for that solution, ensuring the products and services meet the customer needs and expected Business Outcomes
- Ensure that the integrity of the design is maintained throughout the development lifecycle liaising with the engineering team to ensure standards are incorporated
- Collaborate with the CIOs to define and delivery technical strategy and roadmap, looking for opportunities to improve the current landscape/enterprise
- Identify dependencies across multiple Platforms and Value & Sub-Value Streams; awareness of projects/strategies outside of the Value Stream
- Develop and growing a skillset to design for cloud and for resilient, robust, secure, adaptable and flexible solution
- Act as interface to other engineering groups both regional and at Group level
- Ability to lead technical delivery of high severity incidents impacting multiple entities or asset classes.
- Lead by example on ability to deal and manage with uncertainties and manage risk.
- Responsible for influencing business process driven solution design which are cost effective.
- Responsible for continuous technical business delivery and incremental business value proposition
- HSBC is a complex organisation with many external and internal stakeholders; communication is critical and must be adapted to the stakeholder group.
To be successful you will need: - Extensive experience with diverse technologies, including on-premises mainframe, IBMi, IKP, HIC and external cloud platforms (notably AWS).
- In-depth understanding of IWPB backend systems, covering Insurance, Wealth, Lending, Mortgages, and Core Banking area.
- Proficient in COBOL, RPG, JCL, CLP, REXX, and shell scripting, with extensive experience on using TWS, Control-M, and related tools for core system scheduling and integration.
- Strong expertise in document management solutions, such as OT Exstream, Xenos d2e, FileNet, CMOD, Adobe Sign, Captiva, iUpload, GCI, Control D, POD, CCS, and ICN.
- Familiarity with workflow and automation platforms, including JOC and iQueue Advanced.
- Demonstrated capability in designing, delivering, and operating infrastructure and physical architectures.
- Knowledge of HSBC's three-tier network architecture, including eDMz, iDMz, and DRN data moment requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple programmes and priorities effectively.
- Strong stakeholder management, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Leadership at value stream and sub-value stream levels to ensure strategic alignment.
- Experience with third party engagement management, TPS and RFP processes.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to influence and drive adoption of new ideas and technical direction.
- Skilled in translating non-functional requirements into infrastructure and security designs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.
- Advocate for Agile and DevOps methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
