Your new company Our client is a well established international financial market operator in Hong Kong, offering exposure to large-scale market infrastructure, regulatory, and cross-border capital market activities.
Your new role In this role, you will support and oversee fund distribution activities, with a strong focus on distribution documentation, regulatory compliance, and operational governance. This is a senior role requiring deep industry experience, sound regulatory judgement, and the ability to work across business, compliance, legal, and operations teams.
- Provide expert guidance on fund distribution regulatory requirements, with particular focus on Securities & Securities Commission regulations and related regulatory frameworks.
- Support and oversee fund distribution activities across sell-side channels, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and internal policies.
- Review, interpret, and manage fund distribution documentation, including offering documents, distribution agreements, disclosures, and regulatory filings.
- Act as a key point of contact between business, compliance, legal, and operations teams on fund distribution matters.
- Advise on regulatory implications of new products, distribution models, or changes to existing fund offerings.
- Support regulatory reviews, audits, and inspections relating to fund distribution activities.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory developments impacting fund distribution and translate them into practical business guidance.
- Balance commercial objectives with regulatory and governance requirements, providing pragmatic, risk-based solutions.
What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience from law firms, banks, private banks, or fund distribution platforms, combined with strong knowledge of fund distribution regulations and practical exposure to distribution documentation and compliance processes.
- Qualified lawyer, with at least 5 years' working experience in funds
- Broad and deep knowledge of funds regulations
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (proficiency in Putonghua is preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills
- Work commitment, team player, and ability to multitask and work efficiently
