We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Risk and Control Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Police against the Risk Management Framework and effectively manage the material operational risks for the Company
  • Responsible for the Company Risk and Control Assessment, including risk scenario setting, risk impact assessment, controls management, including control set up and advice on control design and operating effectiveness.
  • Facilitate and advise Control Owners in developing control monitoring plan and documenting the continuous control monitoring results.
  • Design test plan and conduct thematic review on functional procedures or new initiatives / projects, assess the operational readiness
  • Issues management, support first line in assessing the issue, impact assessment and advice on the actions and remediation
  • Trigger event management, support first line in risk identification, risk impact and the process / controls assessment.
  • Engage with key role holders (Risk Owner / Control Owners) and Risk Steward in risk and control matters.
  • Incident management, facilitate and guide first line in escalating the incident timely, as well as identify impact, root cause and mitigating actions properly.


To be successful you will need:

  • Degree holder
  • 3-5 years' previous experience within risk and control areas, or similar first line or second line of defence role within HSBC or with other insurers
  • Strong knowledge of banking and insurance industry
  • Experience and knowledge in process and controls review, risk management framework, methodology and concepts, or other regulatory risk
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to interact with varying levels of seniority
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized and autonomous with great sense of ownership
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. Possess skill in writing VBA Macros in excel is an advantage
