About Us
We are a growing asset management firm specialising in structured fixed income products, with a focus in asset backed financing.
The Opportunity
A fast track development path to become a lead Portfolio Manager. We are looking for someone hungry to learn the nuances of portfolio management. You will work directly with seasoned investment and industry professionals and will be groomed to take on increasing levels of responsibility. Depending on your current level of experience, you will be hired as either an Assistant Portfolio Manager/Portfolio Manager.
Who You Are
You are currently an Associate or Vice President at an investment bank with 3-5 years of experience covering FICC and/or Credit. You are technically proficient and understand the mechanics of bonds and structured products, but you are ready to move from an advisory/execution role to a principal investing role. You have a high appetite to learn, a strong work ethic, and the flexibility required to thrive in a small, growing firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Transition to the Buy-Side: Convert sell-side experience to implement and execute the funds strategy and portfolio construction. Particularly, leverage your existing relationships with third-party brokers and dealers to ensure effective deal flow and market coverage.
- Lead investment cycle: From sourcing, due diligence (e.g. credit analysis), to execution (e.g. deal structuring) and post-investment monitoring.
- Investment Committee Support: Contribute research based analysis to the investment committee, helping to shape our overall macro and credit strategy.
- Client Relationship Management: Upkeep investor relations through monthly and quarterly reporting and conference calls. At the same time, expand potential investor network base and support capital formation efforts (e.g. roadshows, presentations, dataroom)
- Risk & Compliance: Assist in implementing overall compliance framework and support KYC and client on-boarding, ensuring seamless regulatory compliance with the SFC.
Experience and Education
- 3-5 years of relevant experience within an investment bank, specifically in FICC, Credit, or Sales & Trading.
- Candidates with experience in structured fixed income products (CLOs, ABS, MBS) will be highly competitive, but a strong grounding in vanilla credit is also acceptable.
- Bachelors Degree required; CFA designation (or candidate) is a strong plus.
- SFC Type 4 & 9 license representatives are preferred; candidates with RO experience will also be considered.
Competencies & Attributes
- Thirst for Knowledge: A genuine desire to learn portfolio management. You should be curious about economic theories, valuation tools, and market regulations.
- Technical experience: Experience in Bloomberg, Excel, and financial modelling. You know how to analyse a credit.
- Cultural Fit: We are a flat organisation. We need someone who is a strong team player, adaptable to a dynamic environment, and willing to wear multiple hats.
- Integrity: High level of integrity and strong ethical standards are non-negotiable.
- Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin)
Why Join Us?

- The Impact: In a start-up, you are a valuable team member. You will have direct access to senior management and a real say in investment decisions.
