Overview

  • We're looking for a Senior Trade Operations Analyst to support a dynamic trading environment spanning equities and equity derivatives.

This is a senior, hands‑on role where you'll manage daily trade control while also leading broader initiatives, acting as the key escalation point, and helping develop junior team members as the desk expands. You'll be responsible for driving stronger controls, smarter automation, and close collaboration with Trading, Technology, and external partners.

What you'll do

  • Take ownership of daily trade control processes: capture, reconcile, and validate trades, transactions, positions, and cash; resolve breaks quickly and implement root‑cause fixes.
  • Oversee P&L and position accuracy: maintain real‑time and end‑of‑day views, investigate discrepancies, and deliver corrective and preventative solutions.
  • Operate with strong control discipline: follow exchange and regulatory requirements, support mandatory submissions, and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
  • Support trading execution: under trader direction, operate algorithmic tools and ensure OMS/EMS, exchange platforms, internal systems, and spreadsheets remain consistent and up‑to‑date.
  • Collaborate with traders, dealers, brokers, clearing agents, middle/back office teams, and technology partners to keep information flowing and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Serve as the first escalation contact for complex breaks or incidents, assess risks, and drive issues to timely and transparent closure.
  • Enhance and automate processes-workflows, reconciliations, and reporting-using Excel, VBA, Python, and SQL to reduce manual work, errors, and resolution time.
  • Build scalable operational infrastructure, including SOPs, checklists, dashboards, and preventive controls to increase reliability, clarity, and auditability.
  • Lead initiatives such as onboarding new products or markets, and manage operational projects from scoping through implementation, including UAT, change management, and documentation.
  • Mentor junior analysts and new joiners through structured training, shadowing, coaching, and development of runbooks/playbooks.
  • Promote high operational standards through consistent documentation, strong process discipline, and continuous improvement practices across the team.

What We're Looking For

  • Solid background (around 7+ years) in trade operations or desk support for equities and equity derivatives, with a track record of managing key trading processes end‑to‑end.
  • Strong understanding of equities, options, and equity derivatives throughout the full trade lifecycle; familiarity with futures and fixed income is a plus.
  • Competent with Bloomberg and advanced Excel; experience improving workflows through practical automation (VBA, Python, SQL) is highly valued. Not expected to be a full-time developer but should be capable of reducing manual steps and error rates.
  • Comfortable leading operational initiatives end‑to‑end-including scoping, stakeholder alignment, UAT, rollout, and documentation-as well as supporting new market/product launches and strengthening controls/reporting.
  • Able to guide others through onboarding, coaching, and knowledge‑sharing (e.g., playbooks/runbooks), serving as an informal escalation point even without formal line management.
