Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution matters, including strategy formulation, case management, and engagement with external counsel.
  • Handle contentious regulatory issues and internal/external investigations, preparing responses and liaising with authorities to safeguard the Firms interests.
  • Provide legal advice on employment-related matters, including employee relations, disciplinary actions, terminations, and compliance with labour laws and internal policies.
  • Advise on a broad range of operational legal matters such as corporate communications, marketing content, real estate transactions, vendor contracts, and general commercial agreements.
  • Draft, review, and maintain Group policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, and operational best practices.
  • Participate in regulatory initiatives, policy development, and industry consultations to address emerging legal and market developments.
  • Collaborate with compliance, risk, HR, and other internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate operational, legal, and reputational risks.
  • Provide legal input on ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives, including crisis management and enterprise-wide operational changes.

Requirements:

  • Lawyer from a reputable international law firm, or in-house counsel at a leading financial institution, with 4-6 years of post-qualification experience
  • Preferably qualified in a common law jurisdiction in addition to Hong Kong
  • Experience in handling litigation, regulatory, general commercial and employment matters
  • Knowledge of brokerage, investment banking, funds, equity or FICC business will be advantageous
  • Excellent drafting, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Excellent command of English and Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)
  • Team player, proactive, willing to learn and detail-oriented
