About the Company
Our client an early-stage, well-funded healthtech startup incubated by a top-tier investment firm with a strong track record of successful exits. Our mission is to empower aesthetic medicine professionals with AI-driven tools that enhance patient relationships, streamline operations, and drive revenue growth.
The Role
As our first AI hire, you'll work directly with the founder to define and build the AI architecture powering our core product modules: community engagement, AI-assisted marketing content generation, and intelligent patient relationship management.
You'll be responsible for designing, building, and deploying production-ready AI features-from RAG-powered knowledge systems to LLM-based patient interaction tools. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving 0→1 environment and wants to shape both product and team from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and develop AI features using LLMs, LangChain, and vector databases
Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) with a focus on privacy and compliance
Collaborate with the mobile team to integrate AI capabilities via APIs
Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate features based on real-world user feedback
Lead AI team hiring and technical direction as the company scales
Communicate technical trade-offs and AI strategy clearly to a non-technical founder and cross-functional stakeholders
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
5-10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years focused on generative AI / LLM applications
Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar orchestration frameworks
Proven track record building and deploying RAG systems in production using vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus, FAISS, etc.)
Deep understanding of prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and LLM optimization techniques
Cloud-native experience: deploying and managing AI services on AWS/GCP/Azure; familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and serverless architectures
Fluent in English (written and verbal); comfortable working in a cross-cultural, English-first environment
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, AI, Math, or related field
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience in healthtech, medtech, or clinic SaaS
Knowledge of healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR)
Previous startup experience from 0→1 or involvement in an exit / IPO
Public technical presence (GitHub, blog, papers, open-source contributions)
Mindset & Fit
You're excited by ambiguity and love building things from scratch
You believe AI should augment human expertise, not replace it
You're hands-on, humble, and ready to write code every day
You can translate complex AI concepts into business value for doctors and clinics
You're aligned with our mission: helping doctors earn more and serve patients better
