You will be a crucial member of the research team, leading coverage of the Energy sector and delivering high‑conviction, data‑driven insights to support investment decisions across traditional energy, renewables, and transition‑related value chains.
Responsibilities - Lead full‑cycle equity research coverage across the Energy sector, including oil & gas, renewables (solar, wind, hydro), LNG, power utilities, battery storage, and emerging energy‑transition technologies.
- Conduct deep fundamental analysis of listed companies: business models, unit economics, capacity trends, regulatory frameworks, and competitive positioning.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models, including DCF, NAV, SOTP, asset‑level valuation, capacity‑based pricing, project IRR analysis, and scenario frameworks.
- Produce high‑quality research reports, catalysts monitoring, earnings previews/reviews, thematic deep dives, and actionable stock calls.
- Track sector trends such as clean energy transition, grid modernization, carbon markets, hydrogen, energy storage, data‑center power demand, and policy developments affecting energy pricing.
- Engage with company management teams, industry experts, regulators, suppliers, and third‑party consultants to deepen market insights.
- Present investment ideas and sector outlooks to portfolio managers and senior stakeholders, articulating clear risk/reward and catalyst paths.
- Monitor commodity price trends, geopolitical developments, supply‑demand shifts, and macro drivers impacting the sector.
- Collaborate closely with peers in cross‑sector areas (Industrials, Utilities, Materials, EV supply chain) to refine integrated investment theses.
- Maintain strong research governance with accurate, rigorous, and timely deliverables.
Job Requirements - 5+ years of equity research experience, ideally covering the Energy sector (oil & gas, energy transition, power utilities, renewables, LNG, or battery value chain).
- Demonstrated ability to generate high‑quality investment ideas supported by strong modelling and deep industry understanding.
- Advanced financial modelling abilities with strong Excel proficiency.
- Strong academic background in Finance, Economics or related disciplines.
- Strong ability to interpret policy changes, commodity cycles, regulatory shifts, and geopolitical events affecting sector performance.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English, with the ability to clearly deliver insights and recommendations.
- Strong analytical mindset, capable of interpreting broad industry data and translating it into precise investment logic.
