Our client is a stable and well-established regional private bank in Hong Kong. They are currently looking for a Human Resource (Generalist), Senior Manager to expand their operation capacity in Hong Kong.
Responsibilities
- Originates and leads overall Hong Kong office Human Resources practices and objectives
- Manages the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs
- Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems, and safety programs. Identify staff vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants.
- Develop training and performance management program that ensures all employees are familiar with their job responsibilities, as well as relevant legal and safety requirements.
- Manage talent acquisition process, including sourcing, testing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding.
- Keep job descriptions up-to-date, accurate and compliant with relevant federal, state and local laws for all positions.
- Create and update compensation strategy through market analysis and pay surveys.
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
- Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees, and administering disciplinary procedures.
- Advise managers on the Companys policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, etc
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward the Companys objectives.
- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and coordinate work activities of employees relating to employment, compensation, labor relations, and employee relations.
- Analyze training needs to design employee development, and health and safety programs.
- Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
- Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of the Company's personnel policies and practices.
- Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination.
- Investigate, review and recommend for insurance carriers on an annual basis.
- Represent the Company at personnel-related hearings and investigations, if needed.
- Negotiate bargaining agreements and help interpret employment contracts.
- Prepare personnel forecast to project employment needs.
- Prepare and follow budgets for personnel operations.
- Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests.
- Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess market trends.
- Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as pay equity, internship program, and employee awards.
- Provide expatriates with relocation assistance, if needed.
- Contract with vendors to provide employee services, such as visa application, and human resources management system.
Requirements
- Degree or above
- 8 years + HR Generalist Experience with hands on experience from the Banking & Financial Services industry
- Solid understanding & knowledge on HKMA & SFC regulation on HR related matters
- All-rounded Human Resources background would be highly preferable (Compensation strategy, performance management, employee relations, employment law, safety practices and talent acquisition)
- Prior experience in managing vendors human resources operations
- Strong verbal & written communication skills (fluency in English required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Human Resources Management Systems (HRMS).
