Job Responsibilities
    • Execute client transactions in physical gold and gold derivatives (e.g., forwards, futures, options) with precision and efficiency.
    • Monitor and manage market risk exposure from the banks gold business, implementing hedging strategies to mitigate risks.
    • Operate within authorized risk limits to achieve individual trading profit targets and drive the banks overall trading performance.
    • Spearhead infrastructure development (e.g., systems, processes) and business expansion for gold and derivatives products in the Hong Kong market.
    • Prepare comprehensive market analysis reports, including macroeconomic trends, price drivers, and trading opportunities.
    • Lead internal training programs to enhance team expertise in gold trading and risk management.
    • Maintain documentation and ensure timely submission of regulatory reports (e.g., SFC, HKMA) for gold and derivatives business.
    • Coordinate with compliance and operations teams to deliver accurate operational and financial data to internal stakeholders and regulators.
Requirements
    • Demonstrated commitment to legal and regulatory compliance, with a proactive approach to risk management and ethical practices.
    • Bachelors degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in gold and derivatives trading, preferably in a banking or financial institution environment.
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with familiarity in quantitative trading strategies and financial modeling.
    • Proficiency in market data analysis and decision-making under dynamic market conditions.
    • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., sales, compliance, product development).
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills to interface with clients, internal departments, and regulators.
    • Self-driven learner capable of adapting to evolving market demands and regulatory frameworks.
    • Experience in foreign banks or leading domestic financial institutions in Hong Kong.
    • Familiarity with the Hong Kong precious metals market structure, including trading platforms (e.g., HKGE) and regulatory landscape.
    • Certification in financial trading (e.g., CFA, FRM) or technical expertise in algorithmic trading tools.
