GCB 4 We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Associate Director, Public Affairs - Hong Kong and GBA.
In this role you will: - Support the formulation of public affairs strategies aligned with the bank's business objectives.
- Coordinate the implementation of advocacy initiatives and engagement plans.
- Represent the bank to engage with policymakers, regulators, legislators, and diplomatic representatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to advance the bank's positions and priorities.
- Monitor and analyse policy, regulatory, and geopolitical developments impacting the financial sector.
- Prepare briefing materials, position papers, and advocacy documents for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with business units and regional/global public affairs teams to ensure alignment on policy positions and engagement strategies.
- Provide timely updates and insights to senior management on relevant developments.
To be successful you will need: - Significant professional experience, ideally in public service, corporate affairs, public affairs, regulatory affairs or finance.
- Prior experience working in a government, regulatory body, financial institution, industry association or similar environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of geopolitical and local dynamics, with at least basic knowledge of finance and economics.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with government, regulatory and diplomatic stakeholders.
- Strong English writing and communication skills - ability to craft clear, persuasive, and concise content. Confident and proficient in Cantonese and Mandarin.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams as well as a bility to operate independently and trouble shoot.
- Professional integrity and sound judgement in handling sensitive matters.
