It facilitates talent management, succession planning, and employee mobility while defining and overseeing frameworks that support employee performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement.

People Business Partner - COO & CIO, Asia Pacific & Middle East (APAC & ME) Role purpose:
The People Business Partner - COO & CIO, Asia Pacific & Middle East (APAC & ME), leads the development and execution of people strategies aligned with COO & CIO and Group PG&C priorities. The role partners closely with senior COO & CIO leaders across APAC & ME to embed organisational change, inclusive culture and colleague well-being, delivering strong business performance and a positive colleague experience.
This role ensures alignment between the people strategy and business strategy, manages demand and prioritization of HR interventions based on commercial value, and drives effective governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across the COO & CIO people agenda in APAC & ME.
Principal accountabilities Strategy, alignment and execution - Deliver alignment between the people strategy and COO & CIO business strategy, delivering commercial value through the HR People Agenda.
- Lead the development and execution of people strategies aligned with COO & CIO and PG&C people strategy.
- Manage demand from the business, ensuring priorities and HR resource allocation are aligned to commercial return on investment on HR interventions.
- Collaborate with People consultants and Centres of Excellence to diagnose people issues/opportunities, share inputs, and leverage HR best practice.
HR leadership and business partnering - Act as a trusted HR leader and advisor, providing well-judged, thought-provoking counsel to senior executives on complex HR issues and people decisions.
- Drive the talent agenda: develop mission-critical talent, succession planning, and strengthen diversity and inclusive representation.
- Provide expertise in organisational design, organisational effectiveness and strategic workforce planning to enable COO & CIO outcomes.
- Develop employer propositions to attract and retain talent within COO & CIO across APAC & ME.
Relationship building, coaching and culture - Develop and sustain effective relationships across the organisational matrix, demonstrating a strategic approach to stakeholder management.
- Coach and develop senior leaders and key COO & CIO talent, strengthening leadership capability and colleague experience.
- Develop and communicate a compelling vision that inspires and engages people with HSBC Values and 'How We Lead' principles.
- Drive constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork through collaboration and matrix management.
Requirements - Extensive HR experience in a regional or global capacity in a fast-moving, complex corporate environment.
- Broad generalist HR experience across a variety of businesses, including operating at a strategic level in international environments.
- Previous experience in a Senior People Partner or Head of HR role at management level in a large-scale multinational, commercial environment.
- Proven ability to lead HR professionals, raise standards, and improve the profile and impact of HR within a business.
- Proven ability to manage change initiatives and HR projects across multiple business units and geographies.
- Experience in Technology or Operations-based businesses with an understanding of the landscape; strong knowledge of APAC & ME market needs will be preferred.
- Strong commercial awareness; able to articulate business value of HR initiatives and make commercially sound judgments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills; able to influence across a matrix and conflicting priorities.
- Strong coaching, facilitation and consultancy skills, with a track record of influencing at Senior level.
- Strategic agility - connects dots, anticipates trends and consequences, translates business strategy into people strategy and execution.
