Strategic Leadership * Brand Stewardship * Reputation Management

Our client is seeking a seasoned communications leader to shape, elevate, and protect the corporate reputation of our Hong Kong platform. This role is central to strengthening our brand presence in the market, driving strategic narratives, and serving as the key conduit between Hong Kong and Headquarters in China. The Director will champion media strategy, corporate storytelling, and brand governance to support our long-term business ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Media Relations & Executive Positioning
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson contact for Hong Kong, managing all media engagements, handling inquiries, and securing thought-leadership opportunities for senior executives.
  • Develop compelling press materials and orchestrate leadership interviews to reinforce the company's strategic positioning.
Cross-Border Communications Alignment
  • Act as the critical communications bridge between the Hong Kong office and Headquarters, ensuring full alignment on messaging, corporate positioning, and reputational direction.
High-Impact Content Development
  • Write, edit, and translate strategic communications across English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, including press releases, corporate statements, CEO messages, and branded content for both Traditional and Simplified Chinese audiences.
  • Elevate content quality to ensure clarity, accuracy, and resonance with stakeholders across markets.
Brand Strategy & Governance
  • Lead the development and execution of the company's brand strategy to strengthen visibility and reinforce a distinct, unified corporate identity.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, channels, and market initiatives.
Reputation & Issues Management
  • Oversee corporate reputation monitoring, including media analysis and sentiment assessment.
  • Proactively identify emerging risks and provide strategic counsel to senior leaders and Headquarters.
Leadership Communications Support
  • Arrange and conduct media training for spokespeople, enhancing their ability to deliver clear, confident, and impactful messages.
Corporate Events & Owned Media Management
  • Oversee planning and execution of corporate events to amplify brand presence.
  • Manage owned channels-including website and social media platforms-to ensure cohesive and impactful digital communications.
Other Strategic Projects
  • Support ad-hoc communications and branding initiatives as required.
The Successful Applicant

A successful Corporate Communication Director should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or financial PR, preferably within financial services. Experience working with Chinese enterprises or financial institutions is a strong advantage.
  • Exceptional written and spoken proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, with proven ability to translate and communicate complex financial concepts across markets.
  • Strong understanding of the Hong Kong media landscape, financial markets, and key digital platforms including WeChat and LinkedIn.
  • A proactive, strategic thinker with strong professional integrity-capable of managing sensitive information discreetly and navigating stakeholders with diplomacy and confidence.
