About the team Credit Section is responsible for analyzing and making recommendation on credit applications, checking and reviewing loan documentation, analyzing branch portfolio and prepare portfolio report, performing credit control / administration managing regulatory tasks and projects, etc.
Role requirements This 8-week internship program gives an exciting opportunity for penultimate year students who show a strong interest in the banking industry. It is an ideal way of discovering if a career in the banking industry matches your needs and aspirations. The program is structured and comprehensive:

- You will have the opportunity to work with experienced professionals, gaining insight into our corporate culture and business.
Upon completion of the program, you can expect to have gained a broad insight and fresh perspectives to your understanding of what we do, and have met some of the best minds in banking.
Essential Functions - As an intern, you will attend an induction program where you will learn about Mizuho Bank, our culture, as well as the benefits and responsibilities of working at the Bank.
- You will receive department-specific training designed to help you succeed and will have the opportunity to work on real responsibilities, including:
- Assist in conducting credit risk reviews and ongoing credit monitoring for various portfolios, especially the high GHG sectors.
- Support in performing climate risk stress testing, including data collection, running simulations, and preparing result summaries.
- Prepare reports and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applications.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
Competencies - The individual is a team player, ready to take on challenges, highly motivated and has a keen interest to work in a bank.
- He/she has broad general knowledge, high versatility and good analytical ability.
- He/she has solid communication skills and good analytical problem solving skills.
- He/she should have respect for, and commit to high standards of business conduct and integrity.
Work experience, education and skills - The individual is a Hong Kong-based penultimate undergraduate pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, ESG, or a related discipline.
- We are looking for an individual with excellent English and Chinese language skills. As we are headquartered in Japan, candidates with an appreciation of the Japanese language or culture are preferred.
- We are looking for an individual with an interest in credit risk, climate risk, and ESG topics. Ability to learn and apply new concepts related to credit and climate risk.
- Due to our global reach, candidates with previous internship experience at financial services institutions or large multi-national corporates will have an advantage.
- The individual has good PC skills in Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Additionally, interns will have access to an exclusive training and development program over the course of their time with us.
