A regional investment bank is setting up a dealing team for its wealth management business, and looks for team head as well as experienced dealers.
- Oversee the daily execution of trades across global and regional markets, including Hong Kong stocks, US stocks, Stock Connect (Northbound/Southbound), bonds, funds, structured products, Korean stocks, and other international equities.
• Lead execution in virtual assets / cryptocurrencies (where SFC-licensed or under VA dealing terms), ensuring secure, efficient handling of spot trading, token orders, and related products while adhering to SFC virtual asset regulatory requirements.
• Monitor real-time market liquidity, volatility, transaction costs (e.g., commissions, stamp duty, market impact, slippage), and best execution practices; continuously optimize algorithmic trading strategies and smart order routing across asset classes.
• Monitor trading risk exposures in real-time (including market risk, counterparty risk, liquidity risk, and VA-specific risks such as wallet/security vulnerabilities), providing timely early warnings, mitigation actions, and handling of abnormal or suspicious trading activities.
• Ensure all trading activities strictly comply with Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) regulations, including those applicable to traditional securities (Type 1 dealing) and virtual asset dealing/advisory terms, as well as internal compliance policies, AML/CFT obligations, and market conduct rules.
• Lead the trading team, develop and optimize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and enhance system automation (e.g., integrating with OMS/EMS systems).
• Train, and upskill team members on trading techniques, complex products (e.g., derivatives, structured products), crypto/virtual asset trading protocols.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with major brokers, liquidity providers, exchanges, and counterparties globally.
• Negotiate optimal commission rates, margin financing limits, execution quality, credit terms, and service level agreements to enhance cost efficiency and execution capabilities.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Hong Kong and US stock trading, with at least 5 years in a team management role.
• Familiar with Hong Kong & US market microstructure, short selling rules, and cross-order matching.
• Experience in risk management within a quantitative or high-frequency trading (HFT) environment.
• Proficient in using Bloomberg Terminal, and major trading systems or systems commonly used by Hong Kong brokers.
• Basic programming skills for trade data analysis or process automation are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills: Fluency in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin is essential.
• Holds a Hong Kong SFC Type 1 (Dealing in Securities) and Type 2 (Dealing in Futures Contracts) Responsible Officer (RO) license or meets the requirements to apply for RO status.
