The Role
As Senior Legal Counsel, Asia, you will play a pivotal role within the regional legal team, working closely with the Regional General Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance across the Group's Asian operations. This broad and influential position encompasses:
- Commercial Matters: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating diverse agreements, including distribution, service, technology, outsourcing, and partnership contracts.
- Transactional Support: Advising on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring, and financing transactions.
- Distribution Arrangements: Supporting innovative and complex cross-border distribution partnerships.
- Regulatory Advisory: Providing counsel on insurance and financial services regulations across multiple Asian jurisdictions.
- Intellectual Property & Governance: Advising on IP rights, licensing, compliance, and corporate governance matters.
Requirements
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment:
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years' post‑qualification experience (PQE)
- Strong background in M&A transactions, gained at an international law firm
- Experience advising financial services clients, or prior in‑house experience within a financial services company
- Proven track record advising across regional markets
- Candidates from private practice with relevant expertise will also be considered
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential
