Main purpose of the role:

We are seeking a mid to senior level regulatory or funds lawyer (5+ PQE). You will play a key role in supporting regulatory, compliance, and fund-distribution matters associated with the platform launch.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal and regulatory support to the team on the development and launch of the Integrated Fund Platform.
  • Advise on fund distribution, product governance, and ongoing compliance obligations applicable to licensed corporations.
  • Assist with regulatory analysis and interpretation of applicable SFC rules, codes, and guidelines, including launch readiness requirements.
  • Support the preparation, review, and implementation of compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders across legal, compliance, product, and business teams to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Assist with responding to regulatory queries and supporting engagement with regulators where required.
  • Provide ad-hoc regulatory and compliance advice as the platform progresses towards go-live.

Person specification:
  • 5+ years' PQE as a regulatory or funds lawyer.
  • Strong background in financial services regulatory and compliance matters, ideally gained within a licensed corporation.
  • Demonstrable experience advising on fund distribution and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong regulatory requirements applicable to funds, intermediaries, or platform businesses.
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, project-driven environment, particularly in the context of a platform or product launch.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating closely with senior stakeholders.
  • Secondment or interim experience is beneficial but not essential.
