Summary
My client is seeking an experienced tax and accounting professional to join their Accounting Department. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of taxation matters while contributing to broader financial governance, system initiatives, and regulatory compliance in a dynamic banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage Hong Kong Profits Tax compliance, including preparation, review, and coordination of tax filings and tax provisions.
- Handle deferred tax calculations and accounting, ensuring appropriate treatment and disclosure in line with applicable accounting standards.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external tax advisors, providing technical guidance and resolving tax‑related matters.
- Drive and support international tax initiatives, including compliance and documentation for:
- OECD Pillar Two requirements
- Country‑by‑Country Reporting (CbCR)
- Transfer Pricing policies and documentation
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial policies, internal controls, and procedures, ensuring alignment with:
- New or revised accounting standards
- Local regulatory requirements
- Group and Head Office governance frameworks
- Participate in finance system enhancement projects, including process improvements and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Support special projects and ad‑hoc assignments as required by Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in taxation and/or financial accounting, ideally gained within the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with Access and Chinese Word Processing is required. SAP knowledge is an advantage.
- Able to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and analytical, with strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; Mandarin proficiency is highly desirable.
