About Our Client A leading trade finance credit insurance provider is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Approver to lead credit assessments, approve credit limits, and strengthen underwriting governance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in trade finance, corporate credit analysis, and credit insurance, with a strong ability to assess counterparties across diverse sectors and geographies. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's risk appetite and ensuring sustainable portfolio growth.
Job Description - Perform in-depth credit assessments of corporate buyers and trading counterparties involved in global and regional trade finance.
- Approve credit limits within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with underwriting standards and risk appetite.
- Oversee portfolio quality, concentration risk, industry exposures, and early warning indicators.
- Recommend adjustments to underwriting guidelines or exposure strategies as market conditions evolve.
- Strengthen credit approval frameworks, workflows, and risk controls to support sustainable business growth.
- Work closely with Business Development, Underwriting, Claims, and Risk teams to achieve commercial objectives while maintaining prudent risk standards.
The Successful Applicant - Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting, Economics, or related fields.
- Minimum 10 years of solid corporate credit / trade finance credit experience, ideally including exposure to credit insurance, trade credit underwriting, or corporate banking.
- Strong understanding of trade finance products, including receivables financing, supply chain finance, letters of credit, and structured trade.
- Proven ability to assess creditworthiness of corporates across various industries and geographies.
- Strong knowledge of financial analysis, credit ratios, and industry risk.
