Role Title: Product Business Analyst – Custody Settlements & Collateral (Functional Domain Expert)

Maximum monthly salary: 85k

Duration: 9 - 12 months

Location: Hong Kong

Were looking for a detail-oriented Product Business Analyst with strong Custody Settlements and Collateral domain expertise to join our team and help strengthen our service to clients. Youll work closely with Custody Product Owners, Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to define design and deliver robust operational controls and product/process improvements across HSBC platforms and vendor systems.

Youll be instrumental in driving the design/operating model, shaping requirements, and enabling long-term automation to improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and strengthen control outcomes. Principal Responsibilities

Product & Process Change / Automation Delivery

- Analyse current processes across Custody and lead the implementation of automated controls and checks to improve efficiency and reduce risk.

- Translate business needs into clear requirements and solution designs, partnering with Product, Operations, Technology and vendors to deliver enhancements across the change lifecycle.

- Define and document target-state processes, control points, and operational readiness requirements for go-live.

Documentation, Governance & Audit Trail

- Create, maintain, and update:

- Design documentations for Custody

- Control documentation, reporting packs, issue logs, and decision records to maintain a strong audit trail and knowledge base.

- Documentation supporting client-facing plans (e.g., service improvements, control uplift, delivery milestones).

Internal & External Stakeholder Management

- Provide support to stakeholders to align with delivery plan, including tracking actions, updating progress, and preparing materials for senior management updates.

- Proactively drive follow-ups to ensure milestones are met and dependencies are managed.

- Support regular operational calls: capture minutes, track actions, and ensure timely closure.

Quality Assurance Support

- Support testing team with Business scenarios and operating model activities, reiew defect fixes—ensuring settlement and collateral scenarios are fully covered.

- Coordinate test case design and sign-off with Product, Operations and Technology.

Agile Delivery / Tooling

- Use Confluence, JIRA , Visio, presentations & other tools to gather requirements, write user stories with clear acceptance criteria, manage backlog items, and track delivery for process improvement and automation initiatives.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

- Strong domain knowledge of Custody Settlements (trade lifecycle, matching/confirmation, fails management, corporate action impacts on settlement, cash/stock reconciliation concepts) and Collateral (margining concepts, collateral movements/substitutions, disputes, exposure/eligibility considerations).

- Experience in Asset Servicing / Securities Services / Custody Operations / Product Change, or a similar financial services analyst role with a strong control and risk mindset.

- Ability to synthesise large volumes of information and ask the right questions to build end-to-end requirements and identify upstream/downstream impacts.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis, reporting, and senior management updates.

- Strong capability in writing detailed procedures, process maps, control reports, and operational documentation.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

- Hands-on experience with JIRA for requirements gathering and delivery tracking.

- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to tailor complex settlement/collateral topics to different audiences (Ops, Tech, Risk, senior stakeholders).
