About the Role

The Consultant of Design Excellence will be the custodian of end-to-end journey Design Excellence and Design Governance, driving consistency, usability and desirability of key journeys to deliver market leading user-centric and brand-aligned online and offline experiences.
The Consultant will join a team of designers to manage design governance, measurement, competitors' landscape and market research, and journey design excellence for both customer and agency facing digital channels for AIA HK to deliver delightful user experiences that's purposeful, human centric, intuitive, consistent and efficient.
The Consultant and the design team will support the Digital and Design Experience team with brand-aligned designs across digital platforms to drive customer acquisition, engagement and nurturing to unleash greater customer lifetime value and helps people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.
The role is also responsible for growing a vibrant design community across the organization that supports and helps develop the design expertise, growing the adoption and value of design best practices.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design Governance and Control:
  • Create, own and enforce design standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency across all digital touchpoints.
  • Guide projects and initiatives to create marketing leading designs across business functions
  • Develop and maintain a design governance framework to align with brand identity, regulatory requirements, and user experience principles.
  • Conduct regular design audits to ensure adherence to governance frameworks and identify areas for improvement.
Design Operations:
  • Adhere to and scale the design operations function, optimizing workflows, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and collaboration.
  • Support the management of design budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of design projects.
  • Implement and leverage group-wide design systems, component libraries, and reusable templates to streamline production.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by introducing new tools, technologies, and methodologies to the design team.
UX/UI production:
  • Develop end-to-end designs for all digital channels, including customer mobile apps, websites, agency apps, and portals.
  • Ensure high-quality, pixel-perfect designs that align with user needs, business goals, and brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product owners, TDA colleagues, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into intuitive and engaging digital experiences.
  • Manage the production of digital assets, ensuring consistency across all platforms and touchpoints.
  • Partner with digital partners and third-party vendors to ensure cohesive design integration across collaborative platforms.
Design Research:
  • Support the planning and execution of comprehensive design research, including customer journey mapping, persona development, and behavioral analysis, to uncover insights that inform and enhance digital customer experiences.
  • Manage a robust usability testing approach to evaluate the effectiveness, accessibility, and usability of digital products and services. Analyze findings and translate them into actionable recommendations to optimize user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed research and usability testing insights into the design process, ensuring data-driven decisions that improve customer engagement and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Continuously refine research practices and improve capabilities to stay ahead of industry trends and customer expectations.
Design Community and Standards:
  • Champion user-centered design principles, conducting user research, usability testing, and feedback analysis to inform design decisions.
  • Contribute to a vibrant design community by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation among cross-functional teams. Establish forums, workshops, and initiatives to empower designers and stakeholders to contribute to a unified design vision.
  • Develop, communicate and evolve a comprehensive set of design standards, integration with brand guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence across all digital customer experiences.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor degree, post graduate degree in design or research related field is a plus
  • At least 7+ years of working experience in design agency, consultancy, Insurance, healthcare or Financial industry, with experience in digital platform design and delivery
  • Ability to turn business and technical requirements into experiences for users, considering consistency, usability, and desirability
  • Experience in UXUI design development in Figma or equivalent tools
  • Experience with customer research, customer experience and design projects
  • Strong project/program management skills and ability to empathize with users and stakeholders
  • Proficient in English and Chinese written and presentation skills
