Our client, an established global financial institution, is seeking an experienced risk management professional to join their regional Risk & Control function as an Associate Director.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage operational risk using defined metrics, ensuring adherence to the firm's operational risk framework across business lines
* Identify, assess, and mitigate risks arising from processes, people, systems, or external events through structured risk methodologies
* Conduct regular risk assessments, control reviews, self-assessments, audits, scenario analysis, and operational quality assurance
* Advise senior management and business stakeholders on risk matters, including risk ratings, emerging issues, and remediation strategies
* Support incident management processes, including loss event reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
* Manage regulatory and compliance-related queries, business continuity planning, and risk reporting, including engagement with regulators in Asia
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in operational risk, compliance, finance, or a related discipline
* Minimum 10 years of experience within the securities or broader financial services industry in Hong Kong
* Strong experience designing, implementing, or managing operational risk and control frameworks
* In-depth knowledge of financial services operations, internal processes, and product lines
* Familiarity with regional and global regulatory standards and market practices, including SFC, MAS, HKEX, Basel, EMIR, and related frameworks
* Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills; experience in audit, risk assurance, or Lean / Six Sigma is an advantage
