Overview
Our client is a foreign bank with businesses spanning corporate banking, investment banking, and markets sales & trading. We are looking for a team member at AVP to join the Finance team in the Hong Kong office. This position will play a key role in month-end closing, P/L and financial reporting, and a reviewer in managing daily accounting, and assist in preparing HKMA regulatory reporting for the HK Branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and prepare accurate and timely delivery of financial report, Head Office report, and HKMA regulatory reports
- Monitor ledger integrity, fixed asset registers, and intercompany charges to ensure proper alignment.
- Participate in month-end closing activities for the Hong Kong branch
- Prepare variance analyses, balance sheet analytics, and periodic reports on FX, P/L, and transfer pricing
- Conduct liquidity calculations such as LMR to facilitate robust cash flow
- Drive automation projects, contribute with new ideas and directions to enhance reporting processes
- Evaluate existing Finance workflows and design automated processes
- Partner with auditors, regulators, and stakeholders while supporting ad hoc projects and new businesses.
Requirements
- Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Professional qualifications in HKICPA, ACCA, or relevant
- At least 6-8 years Financial reporting and/or HKMA regulatory reporting experience from corporate investment banks
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, HKMA regulatory reporting requirements and accounting principles
- Proven experience in driving automation projects for the Finance Department
- Highly organized, motivated, capable of working in a lean team, collaborating with team members at all seniorities
- Good command of written and spoken English
