My client is a well-known financial service. They are currently looking for a Tax manager in finance department.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain tax compliance for the Group's entities in key jurisdictions, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, and selected international locations; contribute to the enhancement of tax reporting systems and digital submission processes.
- Lead the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation packages, ensuring alignment with OECD BEPS guidelines, local filing obligations, and Country-by-Country reporting requirements.
- Provide tax advisory support on business transactions, structuring proposals, and day-to-day tax queries; coordinate responses during tax authority enquiries, audits, or disputes across applicable regions.
- Manage compliance with international information exchange regimes, including FATCA, CRS, and related automatic exchange of information obligations, as well as handle Hong Kong-specific stamp duty matters and exemptions.
- Develop, review, and implement internal tax control frameworks and operational procedures, incorporating updates from regulatory changes and Group-wide tax governance standards.
- Track evolving tax legislation and regulatory developments; perform impact assessments on the Group's financial position and operations, and prepare briefing materials for management.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to tax risk management, financial reporting under IFRS, and other ad-hoc initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 3 years of professional experience in tax compliance or advisory, ideally gained from a Big 4 firm, multinational corporation, or financial institution with exposure to PRC and Hong Kong tax matters.
- Prior full-time experience in Hong Kong or an international financial centre (minimum 2 years) is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, with sharp analytical skills and effective stakeholder communication.
- Proactive mindset, strong team collaboration, and capacity for quick learning in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with FATCA, CRS, Hong Kong stamp duty rules, and transfer pricing principles is preferred.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese); professional qualifications such as HKICPA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent are highly regarded.
