Manager, Shareholder Relations The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyond - infrastructure with sustainability at its core. The Corporate Secretariat (SEC), under the Corporate Secretariat Vice Presidency, is mandated with upholding the integrity of the Bank's multilateral governance by overseeing shareholder relations, membership management, facilitation of the responsiblities of the Board of Governors, and the operations of the Board of Directors, in line with relevant rules and procedures and safeguarding privileges and immunities as conferred by the Articles of Agreement.
The Manager, Shareholder Relations will report directly to the Director General Corporate Secretariat. The Manager will lead a team responsible for AIIB's shareholder relations, including: management of AIIB's membership processes and capital subscriptions; strategic planning of shareholder engagements, including member engagements, diplomatic engagements, headquarter agreements, and host member relations, informed by member analysis and monitoring of major regional and global events; facilitation of the exercise of powers of the Board of Governors and, as needed, coordination with the operations of the Board of Directors; strategic planning and organization of the flagship AIIB annual meetings of the Board of Governors, including full development of the official program and the public program; safeguarding of privileges and immunities and adherence to AIIB's protocol standards; and others duties, as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Lead SEC's engagement and communication with internal and external stakeholders in relation to the duties of AIIB's Board of Governors and AIIB members, ensuring effective information sharing, workflows, and efficient follow-up mechanisms, as needed.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate strategic engagements and events with shareholders and other key stakeholders to strenghthen relations and advance AIIB's mandate, including lead on the organization and coordination of the flagship Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors and other high-level events with shareholders.
- Provide strategic advice underpinned by membership intelligence and analysis of regional and global events in coordination with key departments through the preparation of briefings, presentations, data analyses, and other materials as needed.
- Monitor and facilitate the development and execution of departmental business plans to ensure the timely delivery of Shareholder Relations business objectives within timelines and budget.
- Lead and develop the team for the successful delivery of departmental business plans and AIIB's performance management frameworks
- Contribute to the development of departmental strategies, papers, and notes.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
- At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in international or national organizations or in multilateral governance. Direct or relevant working experience in business management, economics, or international relations. PhD studies count toward this requirement.
- Master's degree or higher in economics, finance, political science, public administration, international relations, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities to build working relationships across teams.
- Self-driven and proactive individual with initiative.
- Ability to adapt based on business needs to keep business initiatives moving forward.
- Strong team spirit and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
