Legal Counsel - Family office

A reputable single-family office with a global investment portfolio spanning across different regions, including Europe, US, HK and Japan. They are seeking a Legal Counsel to join their Hong Kong team and provide strategic legal support across investment, corporate, and operational matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate fund subscription agreements, side letters, LPAs, and other investment documents across multiple asset classes.
  • Manage external counsel across jurisdictions, ensuring effective control of scope, cost, and quality.
  • Advise on cross-border real estate transactions, holding structures, and tax-efficient investment arrangements.
  • Support ongoing corporate administration, statutory filings, KYC/AML compliance, and banking documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • 5-8 years' PQE, ideally gained as an in-house counsel.
  • Prior experience at an international law firm or within a financial institution, private bank, asset manager, or family office.
  • Strong command of English and Mandarin; proficiency in French or Japanese would be an advantage.
  • Proven ability to translate legal complexities into practical business solutions.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple workstreams with minimal supervision.
