Job title: Human Resources Specialist — Compensation & Personnel Management
Location: Central, Hong Kong
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Human Resources Specialist with experience in HR functions within central government-affiliated financial enterprises. The ideal candidate is from mainland China, relatively young, and has 2–5 years of HR experience (2–3 years preferred). This role will focus on personnel management and compensation administration, supporting HR operations across the employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Personnel Management
- Manage employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, probation reviews, regular transfers, promotions, and offboarding.
- Maintain and update personnel records, employee files, and HR databases to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
- Support performance appraisal processes: coordinate evaluation timelines, collect appraisal materials, and track outcomes.
- Handle employee relations matters, including inquiries, routine counseling, and escalation to senior HR when needed.
- Coordinate training needs and liaise with internal or external training providers.
Compensation & Benefits Administration
- Administer monthly payroll inputs and reconciliation in coordination with payroll/finance teams.
- Support salary reviews, bonus calculations, and annual compensation adjustment processes.
- Maintain and update compensation structures, benefit plans, and related documentation in line with company policy.
- Prepare data and reports for compensation budgeting, benchmarking, and management review.
- Ensure compliance with statutory benefits, social insurance, and housing fund regulations.
HR Policy & Compliance
- Implement and ensure adherence to HR policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist in auditing personnel files and HR processes to meet internal and external audit requirements.
- Support the preparation of HR materials and documentation required by the company or regulatory bodies.
Reporting & Documentation
- Produce regular and ad-hoc HR reports (headcount, turnover, compensation summaries) for HR leadership and business units.
- Draft clear HR communications, policy updates, and employee notices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelors degree or above from a strong academic institution; majors in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or related fields preferred.
- Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably 2–3 years; prior experience working in HR within central government-affiliated financial enterprises is strongly preferred.
- Background: Mainland China background required.
- Technical skills:
- Proficiency with HRIS/ERP systems and MS Office (Excel advanced skills preferred).
- Familiarity with payroll processes, social insurance, housing fund, and other statutory requirements.
- Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to handle employee relations professionally.
- Analytical ability to prepare HR reports and support compensation analysis.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Preferred (not required)
- Experience with HR systems used in financial institutions.
- Exposure to compensation design, job evaluation, or HR analytics.
- HR-related certifications (e.g., HRCI, SHRM, or equivalent domestic qualifications).
