Known for its commitment to innovation and a science-driven approach to healthcare, the company is seeking a seasoned professional - Director of Tax to oversee its tax function. This leadership role can be based in either Hong Kong or Shanghai .

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the tax compliance framework across all key operating jurisdictions, with a primary focus on Mainland China and Hong Kong
  2. Develop and implement global tax strategies to optimize the groups effective tax rate while ensuring full alignment with overall business objectives
  3. Oversee the end-to-end tax reporting cycle, financial statement and monthly reporting
  4. Act as a key internal consultant for M&A transactions, providing critical tax structuring insights and navigating complex tax implications
  5. Partner with team members to streamline tax filing workflows and ensure global alignment on compliance matters
  6. Establish and monitor internal tax control systems to identify, mitigate, and report on potential tax risks and exposures globally
  7. Drive high-impact ad hoc projects and tax planning strategies
  8. Mentor and lead the tax team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous professional growth

Professional Requirements

  1. University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  2. Qualified member in CPA, ACCA, or equivalent
  3. At least 15-20 years of taxation experience, ideally gained within pharmaceutical, medical, bio-manufacturing, or related life science sectors
  4. Prior tax consulting experience within Big 4 is highly desirable
  5. Proven experience in a senior leadership capacity
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of China Tax regulations, additional expertise in International Tax is a significant advantage
  7. Fluent command in written and spoken Mandarin, Cantonese, and English
