Site Reliability Engineer

You'll work closely with technologists, traders, and quants to support and enhance a highly automated trading environment. The role is hands‑on with Linux/Unix, focusing on building tools that improve stability, performance, and reliability across distributed systems. You'll also help develop and maintain Linux-based build and deployment tooling, while gaining exposure to market microstructure and seeing firsthand how system design and operational risk affect trading.

Salary: Up to HKD5000000 per annum

In this role, you will:

  • Design and develop Python and Bash scripts to monitor the health, performance, and dependencies of a mission-critical production environment
  • Monitor and support a highly distributed Linux-based trading system
  • Partner with the Platform Engineering team on server imaging, testing, deployment, and system configuration
  • Act as a key liaison between the trading desk and network, security, market data, and platform teams on production issues and new system setups
  • Provide multi-level production support for traders, strategists, and quantitative researchers
  • Help improve system reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across the trading stack

What we're looking for

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems (essential)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python and Bash, required
  • Experience supporting production or mission-critical systems in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with traders, quants, and engineers
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system-level issues under pressure
  • Financial services or trading environment experience preferred, but not required
  • Good understanding of financial instruments and markets is a plus
  • Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
