- A Reputable Bank in Hong Kong is looking for a Team Head of Operational Transformation. The person will lead a small team responsible for driving large-scale operational transformation and migration initiatives across the Bank. This role will play a critical leadership position in delivering end‑to‑end change programmes, particularly in support of the Bank's ongoing operations migration to Mainland China. The role requires a strong combination of operations subject matter expertise, structured change delivery, people leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across Hong Kong and China.
Your new role
Transformation & Change Delivery - Lead and deliver complex, multi‑stream operational transformation and migration programmes, ensuring alignment with the Bank's strategic objectives.
- Drive end‑to‑end change delivery across operations areas including (but not limited to) Payments, KYC / Client Due Diligence, Loans Operations, Account Services, and Client Onboarding.
- Oversee operational migration initiatives to Mainland China, managing risks, dependencies, regulatory considerations, and service continuity.
- Partner closely with Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of change initiatives.
- Establish and maintain robust governance, reporting, and control frameworks for transformation initiatives.
Team Leadership & Management - Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Managers (approx. 3 direct reports), fostering a high‑performance and collaborative culture.
- Provide clear direction, prioritisation, and support to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards.
- Build strong project management discipline, including planning, risk management, issue escalation, and benefits realisation.
Stakeholder Management - Act as a key liaison between Hong Kong and Mainland China operations teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and accountability.
- Engage senior stakeholders, providing concise updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues proactively.
- Support regulatory, audit, and risk partners in relation to operational transformation initiatives.
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 15+ years of relevant work experience, preferably within Retail Banking or Corporate Banking environments.
- Strong hands‑on experience in banking operations, such as: Payments & Cash Management, KYC / Client Due Diligence, Loans Operations, Account Services or Client Onboarding
- Proven track record in operational transformation, change delivery, or large‑scale migration programmes.
- Minimum 5+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
- Proficient in spoken and written Chinese and English.
